【明報專訊】雖然3D打印假牙技術仍要等多一段時間，但Louis表示，現時香港不少醫生已開始使用3D打印技術，打印病人器官，「其中骨科應用最多，例如當病人有骨癌而需要切除骨肉瘤時，便需要植入金屬假體代替切除的骨骼部分，切口必須與金屬假體一致，才能完全接合。過往大部分醫生只能憑經驗去做，但現時只需利用3D打印技術，預先將需要做手術的骨骼打印出來，之後以這個骨骼模型，再打印出可放入切除工具的支架，手術時只要跟隨支架的引導切除骨肉瘤，便可確保切口與金屬假體一致」。<\/p>\n

除了切除骨肉瘤，嚴重的脊椎側彎或外移等矯形手術，亦一樣幫到手，「利用病人磁力共振成像（MRI）或電腦掃描（CT）的脊椎數據，再透過3D打印技術預先將整條脊椎打印出來，醫生便可先利用模型預習做手術一次，加快正式手術時的流程。另外，現時3D打印技術亦能為患者以鈦金屬、生物陶瓷等物料，打印出專用的手術部件，由脊椎矯形支撐零件至面骨整形之上，都能夠完全符合個別病人需要，而相比外國訂做，亦大大縮短製作時間，為不同病患提供多一個選擇」。<\/p>\n
